In Transcarpathia, the offenders throwing stones at border guards were stopped with gunshots

The servicemen of the State Border Guard Service continue to take active measures aimed at combating illegal activities at the border. 

At the same time, the organizers of illegal activities related to smuggling of prohibited goods try to resist and resort to provocative actions against the border guards. 

Thus, today, around 2 am, while patrolling the river section of the border near the settlement of Vylok, border guards noticed people moving towards the state border.

The servicemen immediately began to chase the offenders, who started throwing stones at the law enforcement officers. One stone hit a border guard.

In order to stop the provocation and to detain the offenders, the border guards made several warning shots in the air. After that, the offenders ran away and hid in a private house. The response team called the police, who detained the attackers.

A written report of a criminal offense under Art. 342 of the CCU "Resistance to a representative of the government, a law enforcement officer, a member of the public forces for the protection of public order and the state border or a serviceman" was sent to the Vynogradiv Branch of the Beregovo Department of the National Police in Transcarpathian region.
