In Transcarpathia, the National Guards will be working in the most critical border areas

Such groups will allow for more effective implementation of precautionary measures aimed at preventing violations of the state border. 
In order to increase the effectiveness of counteraction to criminal groups and offenses at the border, border guards of the Chop detachment will be guarding the Ukrainian-Slovak section of the state border in cooperation with the personnel of the mountain patrol company of the National Guard of Ukraine and the National Police. The joint activities will last for several weeks.
Border guards and security forces will be patroling the most critical areas where illegal border crossing or smuggling attempts are most commonly detected. The duties of the joint groups will include document check at the border and the inspection of vehicles moving near the state border. Law enforcement agencies will use all available resources, as well as departmental databases. During patrols, the border guards, along with national guards and policemen, will be using off-road vehicles, ATVs, thermal imagers, night vision devices and other special equipment. Joint activities will significantly strengthen the protection of critical areas and prevent illegal activities at the border.
Such groups will allow more effective implementation of precautionary measures aimed at preventing violations of the state border, which will ensure timely and adequate response to any illegal activities.
