In Transcarpathia, smugglers tried to carry 4,000 packs of cigarettes across the border

Smugglers’ attempt to carry across the border 4,000 packs of cigarettes was unsuccessful. The offenders were stopped by border guards of the Mukachevo detachment.

Yesterday, officers of the "Velyky Bychkiv" division noticed two people who were moving towards the border with packages on their shoulders. In order to prevent the illegal crossing of the border, the border guards immediately began chasing the offenders and made warning shots. Despite the legal orders of the border guards, the smugglers left their cargo and ran away taking advantage of the considerable distance from the patrol group. During the inspection in the area, the border guards found 8 boxes of cigarettes which contained 1,500 packs of the brand "Marble" and 2,500 packs of "Jing Ling" without excise stamps.

The tobacco products were taken to the border guard unit.
