In Transcarpathia Security Service of Ukraine detained local residents who tried to smuggle illegal immigrants to the EU

Security Service of Ukraine liquidated the transnational channel for trafficking persons across the state border of Ukraine.
October 30 this year, officers of the Security Service near the village of Kamianytsia in Uzhgorod district detained a car, inside of which there were two citizens of Ukraine and three Afghan citizens. 
The offenders planned to illegally smuggle illegal immigrants across the Ukrainian-Slovak border outside border crossing points. For the sake of discreetness the accomplices were carrying two Afghans in the trunk, and the third one was hidden in the back of the car.
It was established that the organizers of smuggling are unemployed local residents, aged 36 and 40 years, who have been repeatedly prosecuted for the illegal smuggling of aliens.
Investigators of the Security Service in Transcarpathian region instituted a criminal case against the detainees under Part 2 of Art.332 (trafficking of persons across the state border of Ukraine committed by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, – informed the press-center of Security Service of Ukraine.
