Today, on March 26, police conducted a court-mandated search in Svalyava district. The procedural actions were part of the investigation into the crime, which took place in Svalyava in early March. Metal structures were stolen from the Transcarpathian Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children. Criminal police department investigators identified the person involved in the theft. The 28-year-old was notified of being suspected, and a court-ordered search was conducted today. In particular, police conducted a search in one of the villages of Svalyava district, at the place of residence of a 50-year-old man whom the resident of Svalyava had sold the stolen metal. During the search of the premises, the police found and seized a batch of counterfeit alcohol.
Legal classification in the case has been determined. Two proceedings have been initiated over the criminal acts – under Articles 204 and 213 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of sale of excisable goods and violation of the procedure for scrap metal operations. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
