As a result of socio-economic development in Transcarpathian region in the first quarter, the lowest positions in the overall evaluation are occupied by the city of Chop – the 18th place, the city of Beregovo – the 17th place, and Tyachiv district – the 16th place. The highest positions are occupied by Uzhgorod, Svalyava districts and the city of Mukachevo.
In the first quarter there was a decline of investment in the regional economy. Thus, only a total of 12 million U.S. dollars of foreign direct investment was attracted, which is 1.9 million dollars or 13.7% less than that for the same period last year. The unemployment rate has also increased- from 1.7% to 1.9%.
In the first quarter, the debt to the pension fund increased by 21% and now it is 31.1 million hryvnias Transport organizations of the region in January – March 2013 carried 855 tons of cargo, which is 1.9% less than that for the same period last year. Passenger transport carried 12.8 million passengers, which is 3.5% less than that for the same period in 2012.
At the same time, industrial output has slightly increased – only by 1.8%, and agricultural production – by 2%.
