In Transcarpathia, law enforcement officers detained a criminal who was recruiting and selling girls abroad

A resident of the Kirovograd region was recruiting girls for brothels in Slovakia. The man was detained by police officers together with border guards
Today, on February 23, within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 1 of Article 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, officers of the department for combating trafficking in human beings together with officers of the Uzhgorod police department, servicemen of the Chop Border Guard Detachment, and the special police unit detained a 23-year-old resident of the Kirovograd region, who was trying to illegally take Ukrainian women to Slovakia.
The detainee was recruiting young girls and subsequently intended to sell them to brothels in the city of Kosice, where they would be forced to provide sexual services.
The detention took place at one of the checkpoints of Transcarpathian region. The criminal was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. The necessary materials are prepared to indict the latter and to have court impose a pre-trial restraint on him.
