In Transcarpathia, industrial production fell by 4.2%

In the first quarter of 2015, the total volume of sales amounted to UAH 3 billion 431,1 million and increased by UAH 1 billion 65.8 million in comparison with the same period last year.

Carriers of the region in January – March 2015 transported 1.2 thousand tons of cargo, which is 18.2% more than that in the corresponding period of 2014, and 13.1 million passengers, which is 9.2% more that that in the corresponding period in 2014. In January – March 2015, positive foreign trade balance of goods is USD 51.5 million. 

For the first quarter of 2015, budgets of all levels in the region received taxes and charges (excluding the refund of value added tax) in the amount of UAH 1.5 billion, which is 53.1% more than that in the corresponding period of the last year.

The nominal average monthly wage of a person employed in economy of the region in March 2015 amounted to UAH 3,045, which is 16.8% more than that in the corresponding month of 2014.

Revenues to the Pension Fund budget (excluding single contribution for obligatory social insurance) in January – March 2015 increased compared to the same period of 2014 by 29.2% and amounted to UAH 5.4 million.

Along with the positive trends in the regional economy, there have been negative trends in economic and social development.

In the first quarter, the index of industrial production in the region decreased by 4.2% compared with the corresponding period in 2014.

The index of agricultural production was only 93.6%.  During the first quarter, 84.9 thousand sq. m. of housing was commissioned, which is 37.3% less than that in the corresponding period of 2014.

In January – March 2015, the index of construction output was 78%.

During the first quarter of 2015, USD 1.5 million of foreign direct investments was invested in the economy of the region, which is USD 0.7 million less than that in the corresponding period of 2014. Retail trade turnover in January – March 2015 amounted to UAH 5.3 billion, which is 11.9% less than that in the corresponding period of 2014.

The registered unemployment rate in the region, as of April 1, amounted to 1.3%, against 1.2% as of April 1, 2014.
