Employees of the customs post would enter information about the imported goods without inspection and customs clearance. Operatives of the Economic Crime Department in Transcarpathian region found half a million hryvnia worth of goods imported under a similar scheme.
Employees of the ECD in Transcarpathian region exposed a criminal scheme, under which goods were imported into the customs territory of the country without documents, inspections and registration. However, all the necessary information was entered into the databases.
The police received the information about a batch of goods crossing the border under this scheme.
Thus, in Vynogradiv district, the police stopped a car that had entered the territory of Ukraine without undergoing the official procedure of registration. Inside the car, there were packed products made abroad. There were no supporting documents for the products. The driver told the policemen how he had managed to cross the border.
According to preliminary data, the cost of goods is more than half a million hryvnia.
The investigative department of the police opened a criminal proceeding under Art.364 (abuse of power or position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
