One inhabitant was diagnosed with COVID-19 by PCR testing. The patient is currently staying in the Irshava Central District Hospital, the Uzhgorod city website informs.

The City Council together with law enforcement officers immediately took appropriate measures to prevent the spread of the virus. In particular, Roma camp residents were told about the need to comply with the quarantine and self-isolation rules, about 1,000 masks were distributed free of charge, temperature screening, partial disinfectation with a special solution was carried out, etc.

Unfortunately, all anti-epidemic measures carried out in the Roma settlement were not liked by the locals and the City Council workers encountered aggressive resistance.

Once again, we ask all residents of Irshava community to adhere to the rules of quarantine, use means of personal protection, maintain social distancing, not to visit crowded places unless absolutely necessary, – the Irshava City Council reported.
