In Transcarpathia common, cause and a desire for change brought together the traffic police and the public

Today, the "round table" in Uzhgorod brought together those organizations that operate under different names, different methods, but with one aim – to reduce the number of deaths on the roads and create a law enforcement system (in this case the traffic police) in Transcarpathian region that Ukraine could be proud of.

The meeting with the management of Transcarpathian traffic police was attended by the Association of Carriers, the board of the traffic police veterans, NGOs "Human Rights Protection", Road Control of Transcarpathia and Automaidan.

At the meeting, all parties agreed to consolidate efforts to improve the situation, both in accident rate and other areas related to activities of the traffic police.

Primarily, they raised issues important for all parties, such as parking rules violations, drunk drivers, road surface condition, absence of manhole covers, tactless behavior of traffic inspectors, bribery, and identified specific actions to be jointly carried out to solve them.

Also, the participants of the meeting suggested many innovations in cooperation with the media.    

Cooperation of the traffic police with the public over the last month has already yielded positive results, but such work should be carried out systematically. The situation cannot be changed in a day or a month, but both law enforcement and citizens must make every effort for it.
