On September 19, a big fire broke out in the Borzhava meadow – the fire engulfed about 4 hectares of dry grass and shrubs at the foot of Velykyi Verkh mountain in the Krasna Stina tract.
Volovets rescuers had to walk to the fire. Firefighting was also hampered by strong winds and the fire spread quite quickly through the territory. However, the fire was completely extinguished thanks to the efforts of firefighters and foresters, – the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathiam region reported.
Transcarpathian activists have their own theory about the cause of the fire. Our mountains are just littered with garbage left behind by blueberry pickers and some tourists.
