This morning, near the village of Dyida in Beregovo district of Transcarpathian region, border guards detected and detained a group of people trying to illegally cross the border and get to EU countries.
The unknown persons moving towards the state border were detected using a mobile thermal complex by border patrol consisting of 4th year students of the National Academy of State Border Service of Ukraine.
While trying to overcome the barrage fence, the three "travelers" realized that they had been noticed by border guards and tried to run away. But, as a result of planned and coordinated actions of future border guards, illegal immigrants were detained. They had no IDs. According to one of the illegal immigrants, one of them was a citizen of Syria, another one was from Egypt, and yet another one said that he was a native of Pakistan.
The detainees were taken to the border guard unit. Now, the circumstances of the offense are being established and administrative and procedural documents are being drawn up. The decision on legal liability and further fate of detainees will be taken in court.
It is worth noting that given the cold weather, the foreigners were freezing, and the people involved in trafficking of persons across the border for illegal benefit left their "clients" to fend for themselves disregarding their fate.
