In Transcarpathia, an offender tried to break through across the border with 57 thousand packs of cigarettes

A large shipment of cigarettes, that offenders tried to move across the border, was found by border guards together with customs officers and officers of the Security Service of Ukraine at the checkpoint "Luzhanka" on the border with Hungary.

Around 19.00, a minibus with Slovak registration driven by a citizen of Ukraine arrived at the checkpoint to leave Ukraine. During the border and customs control, the driver was behaving defiantly and refused to provide the vehicle for in-depth inspection.  Then the man turned the vehicle around and tried to escape from the police. Border guards detained the car at the barrier and returned it to the inspection box.   As a result of further inspection of the vehicle, they found 56,890 packs of tobacco products with excise stamps of Ukraine. The found tobacco products were seized.

Currently, the circumstances of the offense and the value of the seized cigarettes are being established.
