In Transcarpathia, an apartment in a high-rise building was on fire: two people were poisoned by carbon monoxide

On October 28, at 7:40 p.m., rescuers received a report of a fire in the village of Dubove, Tyachiv district, on Gagarin street. The fire broke out on the fourth floor of a 5-storey residential building.
The Department of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region reported that when firefighters arrived, they were told that there could be people in the apartment.
Due to heavy smoke, rescuers had to wear breathing apparatuses.
In the room, which was the center of the fire, rescuers found two men born in 1978 and 1987 who were unconscious. Firefighters took them outside and handed them over to paramedics. The victims, diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning, were hospitalized to Tyachiv District Hospital.
At 19:50, the fire was localized and at 20:15 it was completely extinguished. As a result of the fire, a blanket, a carpet and 1 sq. m. of the floor were destroyed. 5 firefighters and two units of equipment were working at the scene.
The cause of the fire is being established by law enforcement agencies, but most likely the fire was caused by the victims themselves because they were smoking while being intoxicated.
