In Transcarpathia, an 18-year-old man killed his mother and then together with sister threw the body into the river

Investigators and operatives of Khust Police Department together with the Investigation Department of the Main Office of the National Police and rescuers quickly solved the murder of a 42-year-old resident of Khust.

On February 19, in the evening, a resident of Khust reported that his wife left had left home in an unknown direction and her whereabouts were unknown.

During the inspection, the police found out that at 2 am on February 19, in Khust, an 18-year-old son of the victim, during a domestic fight, took a wooded rolling pin and inflicted several blows to the head of his mother.  Making sure that she was dead, he and his 16-year-old sister took the woman’s body to the outskirts of the city and threw it into the Rika river. Police officers together with rescuers found the body near the village of Kryva under the road bridge over the Tisa river. Rescuers examined 2 km of the river bottom.

The 18-year-old and his sister were notified of being suspected of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Paragraph 12 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, murder committed by group of persons. This offense is punishable by imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
