A previously convicted resident of Tyachiv, under the pretext of taking it for a short time, illegally took possession of his countryman’s scooter. After the latter appealed to the police, the vehicle was found along with the thief, the Communications department of the Transcarpathian regional police reported.
Yesterday, September 1, the police received a report from a 22-year-old resident of Tyachiv. The man stated that his scooter had been stolen.
Investigators opened a criminal case over the theft of the vehicle under Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
After carrying out a set of operative measures, law enforcement officers found out that a 39-year-old previously convicted resident of Tyachiv was involved in the theft of the scooter.
The man is currently being questioned by law enforcement officers. The case is under pre-trial investigation.
