The Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region submitted to the court the criminal proceedings against the traffic inspector, 26-year-old police lieutenant R. suspected in sales of drugs in the city of Khust and Khust district.
During the preliminary investigation, it was found out that the police officer, for the purpose of illicit enrichment, had bought three injection syringes with narcotic substance, which he wanted to re-sell at a higher price.
However, he was caught red-handed by officers of Transcarpathian region prosecutors office.
Therefore, by his deliberate actions, the police officer committed an offense under Part 2 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal purchase, transportation for the purpose of sales and sales of illegal psychotropic substances which, according to the law, shall be punishable by imprisonment for a term of six to ten
years with confiscation of property.
