In Transcarpathia, a man who attacked a patrol policeman with a knife, was taken into custody

At the request of the prosecutor of the Beregovo Local Prosecutor’s Office, the investigating judge of the Vynogradiv District Court took into 60 days custody the suspect in the assault on a law enforcement officer (Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) 
The incident took place on March 23, 2020 in Vynogradiv. Law enforcement officers arrived on a call about a likely break-in to a private home of a local resident and tried to apprehend a man who was fleeing the scene. At this time, the suspect struck one of the policemen with a knife.
The policemen immediately detained the attacker. As it was found out, the 49-year-old resident of Vynogradiv was also wanted for illegal seizure of a car.
Further pre-trial investigation to find out all the circumstances of the incident is being carried out by investigators of the Vynogradiv Police Department.
Prosecutors of the Vynogradiv Department of the Beregovo Local Prosecutor’s Office provide procedural control over the course of the investigation.
