In Transcarpathia, a group of illegal immigrants from India was detained near the border

Three foreigners, who were illegally staying in the border area, were detained yesterday by the servicemen of the Chop detachment on the outskirts of the town of Velyky Berezny, Uzhgorod district.

The information on a possible attempt to illegally cross the state border in this area was provided by officers of the Department of Homeland Security of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service. Therefore, additional border patrols were sent to that area, and one of them found the offenders. The detainees were citizens of India.  During the questioning, they said that they intended to get to European countries in search of a better luck. Though foreigners had passports on them, their stay in our country was illegal, as the visas of all three were long expired.

In order bring the offenders to administrative responsibility, the illegal migrants were taken to the temporary detention center of the Chop border guard detachment. After establishment of all the circumstances of the offense, they will be brought to administrative liability under Part 2 of Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses "Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine", – the press service of the Chop border guard detachment reported.
