In Transcarpathia, a father and son will be tried for smuggling illegal migrants

The prosecutor of the Velyky Berezny department of the Uzhgorod local prosecutor’s office approved and sent to court an indictment against two residents of the village of Maly Berezny in whose house law enforcement officers found a group of illegal migrants.

Under the agreement, the suspects were to house six Sri Lankans. For about two weeks, the "hosts" provided the "guests" with food and proper living conditions.
Subsequently, the father and son were to hand over the migrants to other accomplices for further transportation across the state border, but in early March 2020, the foreigners were detained by local law enforcement.
The actions of the suspects are qualified under Part 2 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code (assistance in the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine).
