The 21-year-old victim with 50% body burns was taken to intensive care. The police launched a criminal investigation regarding the 42-year-old father.
At night, the police of Khust received from doctors a report that an ambulance had delivered a young man with thermal burns of the body. The investigative team took the case.
As the police found out, the 21-year-old victim lives in the village of Berezovo in Khust district. In the evening, he had a conflict with his father. The latter, being intoxicated, doused the son with gasoline. Then they began to fight and fell to the ground. The clothes on both caught fire, probably from the cigarette smoked by the father.
The father suffered less, but the son with 50% burns of the body was taken to intensive care.
The police, under the procedural control of the prosecutors, initiated criminal proceeding over this incident under Art.121, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukaraine (intentional grievous bodily harm). The choice of a pretrial restraint on the 42-year-old offender is being decided.
