In Transcarpathia, 75 unemployed persons started their own business last year

Last year, 33,500 Transcarpathians used the services of the employment service; 18 thousand persons had the status of unemployed, almost half of them were young people under 35 years old. With the help of the employment centers, more than 20 thousand Transcarpathians were employed. This was reported by the director of the Transcarpathian Regional Employment Center Yuriy Fushchych at the briefing in the press center of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

Last year, compared to 2016, the number of employers increased by 9 percent, and the number of vacancies increased too, which led to a reduction in the imbalance between demand for labor and the available labor.

Thus, while as of January 1, 2017, in Transcarpathian region, on average 14 unemployed persons applied for one job, as of January 1, 2018 it was 6.

75 registered unemployed Transcarpathians opened their own business by being paid lump sum unemployment benefit, 19 of whom were demobilized ATO participants.

The professions which are most in demand, according to Y. Fushchych, are masonry, electricians, welders, builders, accountants, salesmen, waiters, cooks. The agricultural industry needs tractor drivers, powerful enterprises need skilled engineers, IT specialists, and electronics specialists.
