According to the head of the epidemic monitoring and sanitary protection department of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service in Transcarpathian region Victoria Dordyay, during the 9th calendar week of 2014, 3713 people have turned to health care institutions of the region about ARVI and influenza, which is 42 cases less compared to the previous week. 2668 (71.8 %) are children under 17 years. 5.2 % of the total of cases (193 persons) have been hospitalized, of which 155 (80.3 %) are children.
No growth rate of the ARVI and influenza during the reporting week compared to the previous one has been recorded. The incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections among
the population of the region is 29.5 per 10 thousand people, which is 59.5 % below the epidemic threshold – the press-center of the Health Care Department in Transcarpathian region reported.
