As you know, these days, the royal couple of Sandor and Gertha-Margaret Habsburg-Lothringen from Austria were visiting Transcarpathia. The representatives of various Austrian charitable organizations came with them. The guests took part in a number of events that took place in our region, including – as the descendants of the Empress – the ceremony of awarding the Order of Maria Theresa.
This is not the first visit of the royal couple to Transcarpathia. In July 2015, the Austrian delegation headed by the royal spouses visited Transcarpathia for the first time to attend the opening of the "Flame of Peace" stele in Rakhiv district.
On Friday, in the presence of the entire delegation, guests, officials of Mukachevo district, numerous tourists, Sandor and Gertha-Margaret Habsburg-Lothringen opened the same "Flame of Peace" stele in the famous Saint-Miklos castle.
It was a solemn ceremony, during which guests of the castle were greeted by Yosyp Bartosh and his wife wearing costumes of Ilona Zrinyi and Imre Thokoly, whose names are associated with the happiest moments in the history of the castle. During the opening of the memorial sign, activists of the Peace Embassy, which is headed in Transcarpathia by Victor Holin, were awarded with diplomas and medals "Flame of Peace". One of them was the owner of the castle Yosyp Bartosh, thanks to whom the "Castle of Love" has been revived.
On the same day, the opening of the third festival of florists took place in the palace. Flower specialists from Hungary, Estonia, Lithuania, Belarus, Poland and so on participated in it.
Sandor and Gertha-Margaret Habsburg-Lothringen congratulated the participants of the festival and received from them symbolic flower crowns.
