The situation with the alarm near the local depot, which was raised on the night of Saturday to Sunday in Uzhgorod, is being actively discussed on Facebook. It awakened a lot of Uzhgorod residents, as the speakers were urging to leave the area. In particular, it was reported by Oleksandr Hereshko in the group "Uzhgorod".
In the comment section, he wrote that he had contacted the duty officer of the rescue service, who said that no emergency had been reported, and the police was establishing the source of the alarm messages.
At 6.10 am, messages through the speakers resumed. Finally, it was reported that guards of the oil depot activated the emergency notification by mistake.
"According to the Executive Committee, the depot guards mistakenly activated the emergency notification system. According to them, there was no emergency", – Oleksandr Hereshko said.
In the comments, other users of the social network confirmed that they had heard alarms at night too. Moreover, some people say that it was not the first time such incidents occur.
