In the new academic year, UzhNU students will be living in up-to-date comfortable dorms (PHOTOS)

After a major overhaul, the 5th floors of student dorms № 2 and 3 are unrecognizable.

Holidays are the time when builders work to make living conditions for students more comfortable. Thus, large-scale repair work in the dorms number 2 and number 3 of the Uzhgorod National University has been completed, and upgraded 5th floors are ready for the new academic year. 

 Recall that last year, with the assistance of the Government of Hungary, the 6th and 5th floors and the lobby of the dorm number 4 were completely renovated.

– Now that we have managed to upgrade two floors of the dorm, our task is to create the same conditions for all university students – the rector Volodymyr Smolanka said then.

Gradually, this target is becoming closer. This year, the repairs in dormitories 2 and 3 have been completed.

According to the director of the campus Vasyl Kepich, the replacement of the roof of the dorm № 2, as well as renovation of the top floors in both dorms cost the university about 3 million hryvnia. By the way, more than 100 students live on each of the completely renovated floors.

– Almost everything has been updated, – Vasyl Kypriych says. – The builders replaced the wiring, levelled and decorated the walls, mounted a new ceiling, replaced the floor.

There are also new doors for all forty student rooms on each of the floors. And of course, now we have beautiful new kitchens, toilets and washing rooms. Everything – plumbing, kitchen stoves, and furniture – has been replaced.

 Vasyl Kepich informs that next they plan to repair the fourth floors in both dorms. Also the roof on the dorm number 3 needs to be replaced, and the roof on the family dorm number 5 needs to be finished.
