Almost two thousand packs of cigarettes were found by border guards of the department "Bohdan" of the Mukachevo detachment yesterday in Transcarpathia.
Border guards received the information about preparations for possible illegal activities from a local resident.
A response team was sent to the mountainous area near the border with Romania. At a distance of 350 meters from the border, soldiers noticed footprints in the snow, and then 4 packages of tobacco products and 3 persons who abandoned their cargo and started to flee.
Currently, the search for the fugitives, who tried to move the goods, continues and the found 1,890 packs of "Marble" without excise stamps were delivered to the border guard department and subsequently will be handed over to the SFS.
