In the mountains, border guards detained frozen fugitives to Europe

Two illegal migrants from Africa were arrested this morning by the border guards of the Velyky Berezny division of the Chop detachment.  The soldiers not only stopped the illegal migrants, but also rescued their lives. The foreigners were found when they, frozen and exhausted, were trying to get to neighboring Slovakia through a difficult mountainous terrain. Despite the difficult weather conditions that the Africans were not used to and the almost one meter thick snow cover in the mountains, the traffickers still send them to go through the woods on the own. The men were moving slowly when they were spotted by border patrol near the border fence.

The detainees were citizens of Egypt and Morocco. One of them has been living on the territory of Ukraine for a long time. At present, military medics are providing them with emergency medical care. After that, they will be interviewed and brought to administrative liability under Part 2 of Article 204-1 of the CAO "Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine". At the same time, the border guards are finding out who else was involved in the offense, – the press service of the Chop border guard informs.
