In the footsteps of opryshkos (announcement)

On August 23, 2015, in Rakhiv, there will be the third mountain bike marathon "Opryshkos’ Path", timed to the Independence Day of Ukraine. More than 120 amateur athletes from all over Ukraine and guests from Belarus and Moldova will be competing in six categories, at distances of 43 km and 78 km. The route runs over the picturesque slopes of the Svydovets ridge in the Carpathians, the paths where you can find footsteps of the legendary folk avengers – opryshkos.

The races are held to promote cycling, healthy and active lifestyle and to present a unique and rich Hutsul culture. The marathon demonstrates the possibilities of tourism and cycling infrastructure in a rich for natural and historical sights Transcarpathian region.

The races will start at 9:00 and 10:30 in the "Burkut" park in Rakhiv.   

All marathon participants and guests will have an opportunity to enjoy the Hutsul hospitality, hear the unique sound of trembita and enjoy traditional local cuisine -bograch. The awarding ceremony will be held at 17:00 in the "Burkut" park. Amateur orchestra of Hutsul folk instruments will present the participants and visitors excellent traditional music of the Carpathian Mountains.
