Unemployment in the eurozone has set a new record of 11.8% in November 2012, writes The Financial Times. Compared with the same month in 2011 unemployment rate increased by 1.2%.
The largest increase this year was recorded in southern European countries – Greece, Spain, Cyprus and Portugal. In November, unemployment in Spain reached 26.6% – 3.2% higher than a year earlier.

At the same time the European Commission has released an annual survey on consumer and business confidence. Both figures have increased for the second consecutive month, but remained much lower than the average year level.
In Germany, the continent’s largest economy, the external trade has fallen sharply in November. Thus, the probability that the country is experiencing a decline in the fourth quarter, has significantly increased.
