In the coming days, it will be cold in Transcarpathia, and on the highlands there will be snow

The next few days will be rather cold for the region, and during Sunday and Monday our mountains will see snow, especially the high mountains of eastern Transcarpathia (Svydovets and Chornohora ridges), the Transcarpathian Center for Hydrometeorology reported

Over the next five cold days, the coldest ones in Transcarpathia are expected to be Monday and Tuesday. During those days, there will be the risk of night temperature drop to around zero degrees even in the foothills and the lowlands. This phenomenon can be observed above the settlements when the sky is clear.

In the highlands, even without clearing, air temperature will be +3 during daytime to -6 in the night and morning. The rain will start to turn into wet snow on Sunday around noon, and dry snow is expected on Monday in the high mountains.

It is expected that 2 to 9 cm snow cover will be formed briefly in the high mountains. From then on (Wednesday), gradual increase of temperature is expected in the region due to the change in the direction of the air masses to south and southwest.

At night and in the morning of October 6, 2019, heavy rainfall is expected in most of Transcarpathian region (I, yellow level of danger).
