According to Serhiy Havryliuk, the head of the Pidvolochysk police department, a Roma family lived near the landfill. They were collecting and sorting garbage. The victim came to visit them from Transcarpathian region.
After drinking alcohol, a quarrel broke out between the men, during which a 48-year-old native of Transcarpathian region stabbed the young man in the stomach with a kitchen knife.
The wounded man from Mukachevo managed to reach the district center. In the city, people saw him and called doctors. The victim was operated on. Doctors reported a penetrating wound that damaged the rectum in several places.
The man confessed to the crime. This incident was registered in the URPI under Article 121 of the Criminal Code – intentional grievous bodily harm. The investigation is underway.
