In September net purchase of currencies by citizens totaled $ 1.802 billion, according to the National Bank’s monthly survey of major trends of the currency market of Ukraine in September 2012.
According to the document, the amount of foreign exchange purchased by banks from the population, was $ 1.108 billion, the amount of foreign exchange sold to individuals was $ 2.910 billion. Thus, the net purchase of currency by population increased by 2.5 times, compared with the August rate of $ 722.8 million .
Bank deposits of individuals in hard currencies increased by $ 611.6 million and on September 1, 2012 totaled $ 21.126 billion
