In the evening on January 13, on the Mount Blyznitsia in Rakhiv district, two tourists – from Kyiv and Mykolaiv – got lost. The men were skiing on mountain slopes and got lost due to thick fog. Their friends reported their disappearance to the rescue service at 18:30.
Search and rescue departments of the city of Rakhiv and the village of Yasinya immediately started searching for the tourists. Already at 19:25, rescuers managed to find one of the tourists, resident of the city of Mykolayiv. Since the man did not need medical assistance, he was taken to the tourist camp on the Dragobrat tract.
At 23:00, the search for the second skier, a resident of the city of Kyiv, had to be suspended because of worsening weather conditions. The search resumed in the morning on January 14. The search is complicated because of poor visibility, which is 2-3 meters, and the lack of telephone communication with the lost tourist. Search and rescue departments of the city of Rakhiv and the village of Yasinya – 8 persons and 1 vehicle – are engaged in the search.
