In Rakhiv district, an “Ural” loaded with cigarettes was detained (PHOTOS)

On the night of Wednesday, September 23, officers of the Department of Internal Security in Transcarpathian region (the Department of Internal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine) detained in a forest near the village of Yasinya in Rakhiv district the truck "Ural" – all-terrain vehicle with two driving axles. The vehicle is registered to a private person, the driver was a local resident. The bed of the "Ural" was covered with boards and fully loaded with cigarettes "Compliment" without excise stamps, with "Duty free" labels and emblems of the Lviv tobacco factory.

– The cigarettes were being moved from Ivano-Frankivsk region to Transcarpathia for subsequent smuggling to Romania – the head of the region Hennadiy Moskal said. – Knowing that they cannot go through the police post in "Lazeshchyna", the smugglers took a forest road to Yasinya. However, they were ambushed by the internal security officers. The person behind this new route has been identified, it is a local "contraband kingpin" Sh.

The "Ural" with cigarettes was detained and taken to the impound lot of Rakhiv district police. The seized goods will be sent for examination, as there are suspicions that they are counterfeit. In the next few hours, criminal proceedings over this fact will be opened.
