In one day, two people died in fire in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)

Two fires with tragic consequences occurred on the night of January 25 to 26 in Transcarpathian region.

The first report of fire was received by the rescue service at 21:00 on January 25. The fire started in an apartment on the fourth floor of a 5-storey residential building on Svoboda Ave. in Uzhgorod

A firefighting crew of the 14th state fire and rescue unit of Uzhgorod arrived at the scene to eliminate it.   In total, three pieces of equipment and 10 personnel members were engaged.

At that moment there was a heavy smoke in the building, so the rescuers, in addition to elimination of the fire, notified its residents and helped them escape from the danger area. In total, eight people were taken outside. 

During the extinguishing of the fire, the body of the apartment owner born in 1950 was found in one of the rooms.

At 21:24 the fire was contained, and at 21:55 it was completely eliminated.

The material damage caused and the cause of the fire are being established, the fire destroyed a sofa and household items.

Another tragic incident occurred on Peremoha street in Chop. At 00:48, on the 26th of January, the rescue service received a report of a fire in a summer kitchen of a 45-year-old local resident. Firefighters of the 7th State Fire and Rescue Unit of the city of Chop and the State Fire and Rescue Post of the village of Dobron were sent at the scene.

Upon the arrival of the rescuers, the entire building was already engulfed by fire. 

At 01:01, the fire was contained, but its liquidation lasted until 03:34.  

The body of the owner was found at the scene of the fire. 

Law enforcement are establishing the cause of the fire and material damage. 

Rescuers again appeal to the residents of the region and ask to be careful while handling fire and to strictly adhere to the rules of fire safety.
