On Monday, a 51-year-old resident of Mukachevo reported a theft to the police. The applicant said that at the market she had left her car unlocked for a few minutes, but this time was enough for a thief to steal from her. An unknown person stole from the car a purse with 5,000 UAH in it.
While the victim was looking for help, her husband was looking for the thief and soon noticed a man with… a woman’s purse. The victim’s husband caught the thief and held him until the arrival of the police.
Patrol policemen brought the suspect to Mukachevo police department. As it turned out, the thief was a 53-year-old resident of Mukachevo. The man has been repeatedly convicted for committing property crimes. The physical evidence – the purse – was seized and returned to the owner.
Criminal proceeding over this incident was opened under Part 1 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigation is ongoing.
