On October 29, at 16.30, the emergency dispatching service of the Mukachevo office of the operation department of the "Zakarpathaz" PJSC was informed about the tragedy in the village of Velyki Luchky at Lisna st., 126.
According to chief engineer of the gas supply unit Mykola Matskevych, the bodies of Ivan and Mari N. born in 1936 and 1940 respectively were found in their own house. According to preliminary information, the death was caused by poisoning with undetermined substance. During the inspection of the scene, it was found out that the flue pipe was disconnected from the flue channel. So the relevant services and authorities are now establishing how the tragedy could happen – through trivial fault, someone’s evil will or the will of the deceased.
The "Zakarpathaz" PJSC once again remind their clients: carbon monoxide is an insidious killer. So before the heating season, each household or apartment owner must check the condition of smoke and ventilation ducts and submit to the gas distribution company the relevant report made by an organization licensed by the State Labour Service Office in Transcarpathian region and other organizations for performance of such type of work.
