In Mukachevo district, a truck driver hit a pedestrian

The road accident happened last night, January 29, about 1:00 in the village of Karpaty in Mukachevo district. 

At the scene of the accident, officers of the police investigation team found out that a 46-year-old resident of the city of Lutsk moving towards the city of Mukachevo by a truck Fredliner had hit a pedestrian. According to the driver, the pedestrian was walking in the middle of the roadway.

As a result of this incident, a 40-year-old resident of the village of Chynadiyevo sufferred injuries of moderate severity and was hospitalized to the Mukachevo Central Hospital. 

The driver of the truck was tested, he was sober. The vehicle was taken to the police impound lot. 

The police opened a criminal proceeding over the accident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, a violation of traffic rules, which caused the victim moderate bodily harm. The pre-trial investigation is under way. To find out all the circumstances of the traffic accident, the police assigned a number of examinations.
