The offender volunteered to help a blind 75-year-old pensioner, and then stole from him an electric saw.The police found the thief and brought criminal charges against him.
A local resident reported to Mukachevo city police that someone had stolen from his house an electric saw, which he had purchased shortly before for 900 UAH.

In the course of search operations, the police officers found evidence to support the involvement of a 42-year-old resident of Mukachevo Stepan in the commission of the theft. The man initially strongly denied any involvement in the theft, but then confessed to the crime.
The man has previously been criminally charged for similar crimes. And now having no intention to earn in an honest way, the offender, using helplessness of the old man, stole the electric saw.
The physical evidence was seized. Criminal proceeding over this incident was opened under Part 1 of Art.185 "Theft" of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The thief faces punishment by a fine, correctional labor for up to 2 years, or imprisonment for up to 3 years – Evheniya Krasylynets of Mukachevo City Police informed.
