Rescuers received a report of a fire on Chernyshevsky street in the city of Mukachevo. The fire was in an apartment on the fifth floor of an apartment building.
A 14-year-old son of the apartment owner said that a Christmas tree in the apartment had caught fire and the fire was spreading on other household items. Two crews of firefighters were sent to eliminate the fire. In total, 8 personnel members and three units of equipment were engaged. Upon arrival, rescuers opened the door and walked into the apartment. There was no big fire, but the whole apartment was filled with carbon smoke.
In one room, the rescuers found the son of the apartment owner. The boy had already inhaled a lot of smoke. He was immediately taken out of the danger zone and handed over to paramedics. They took the boy to the Mukachevo Central District Hospital. Then, the rescuers extinguished the fire using a fire extinguisher. It took a few minutes.
As it was found out, the fire was caused by Christmas tree lights. The fire destroyed the Christmas tree, curtains and about 2 square meters of the floor
