In Mukachevo, children were taken away from alcoholic parents

The parents of the children abuse alcohol.

The city council notes that social workers and volunteers were taking care of this family for over a year. They tried to change the parents’ way of life and their attitude to fulfilling their parental responsibilities.

The parents have been repeatedly called to meetings of the children’s rights protection committee; they were brought to administrative responsibility for child neglect.

Unfortunately, those efforts proved to be in vain; between the children and alcohol, the parents chose the latter. In December 2018, the Mukachevo City and District Court took the children from their parents, without depriving them of their parental rights.

They will temporarily stay in one of the regional institutions for orphans and children deprived of parental care.
