In March, the volume of deposits in banks fell by 2% in local currency, by 7.4% in foreign currency – NBU

In March, the volume of deposits in Ukrainian banks fell by 2% in local currency – to UAH 345.2 billion, and by 7.4% in foreign currency – to USD 16.6 billion.

This is stated in the report of the NBU, the "UNIAN" writes.

According to the regulator, since the beginning of the year, hryvnia deposits has decreased by 5.7%, foreign currency deposits – by 14.4%.

In March, the balance of loans in national currency decreased by 2.7% (YTD – by 4.9%) – to UAH 516.4 billion, of loans in foreign currency – by 1.9% (YTD – by 6.1%) – to USD 28.2 billion.

In a month, the volume of bank correspondent accounts at the NBU has decreased by 2.9% (YTD – by 2.1%) – to USD 26.7 billion. The amount of compulsory reserves to be formed in accordance with established standards from February 11 to March 10 was UAH 37.7 billion, from March 11 to April 10 – UAH 48 billion.

As reported, the volume of deposits in Ukrainian banks in February fell by 1.7% in local currency – to UAH 352.7 billion, by 3.7% in foreign currency – to USD 18 billion.

The volume of deposits in Ukrainian banks in 2014 has decreased by 13.7% in local currency – to UAH 364.5 billion, by 37.2% in foreign currency – to USD 19.4 billion.
