Mykhailo Dankanych, the director of the Transcarpathian Regional Development Agency, told about it in the comment to the Ukrinform.
"On weekend, during the campaign "Clean Space", 50 volunteers cleared the ruins of the Korolevo Castle. This was the third such campaign within the project "Salt Way", which is being implemented in Transcarpathia. During the first two, the areas near the ruins of Kvasy and Vyshkovo castles were cleared,” – Dankanych said.
During the event in Korolevo, activists removed rubbish from the area around the architectural monument and cut down bushes that overrun the ruins.
"Now, thanks to these campaigns, the castle offers beautiful views," – the director of the agency said.
According to him, volunteers left the hand tools to local activists, who will be taking care of the territories near the ruins of the castles.
As you know, the castle in Korolevo, which was built in the late thirteenth century, belonged to the famous family of Pereni. The building was destroyed in 1671 by order of the King of Hungary.
