In June, the Ukrzaliznytsya will launch a new railway route Kosice – Chop – Mukachevo on the 1435 mm track. This was announced by the press-service of the company.
"The test run on this route will take place in a few months – April 2. The trains will be provided by our colleagues from Slovakia, the time on the road will be about 4 hours. Last year, we successfully launched the train to Budapest, also on the European gauge track. Our intentions are the same – the Ukrainian city of Mukachevo should become a powerful passenger hub for traveling around Europe," – Yevhen Kravtsov, the Chairman of the Ukrzaliznytsya said.
According to preliminary data, the timetable of the train Mukachevo-Kosice will be made up in such a way that passengers could plan routes with transfers: from Kosice station – to the trains to Prague and Bratislava; from the station Mukachevo – to the trains to Zaporizhzhya, Lviv, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Uzhgorod, Lysychansk, Odessa and other cities.
