On July 1, 2015, Ukraine and Hungary will start testing the gas interconnector under the new agreement, which allows to carry out so-called virtual reverse gas supply and discard the "Gazprom" intermediary.
This was reported to journalists by the president of the "Ukrtransgaz" Igor Prokopiv, the UNIANinformed.
"On July 1, we will start test procedures under this agreement, and hopefully on October 1, the full operation will begin," – Prokopiv said.
According to the head of the "Ukrtransgaz", the actual operation of the iterconnector under the new agreement will be possible only when the Russian "Gazprom" will give the "Ukrtransgaz" shipper codes.
As reported, on May 29, operators of gas transport systems of Ukraine and Hungary signed an agreement on interconnector, which provides for the exchange of data on the work of cross-border gas pipelines that will help to exclude the Russian "Gazprom" from current relations between Ukraine and the EU.
The capacity of the interconnector in the direction of Hungary is 26 billion cubic meters a year, in the direction of Ukraine – 6.1 billion cubic meters per year.
