In Irshava, a drug den was eliminated

Detectives of Irshava district police department received information regarding a citizen of Irshava, who organized a drug den at his place.
 
When checking this information, law enforcement officers came to a 33-year-old Irshava resident who voluntarily allowed them to inspect his apartment. During the inspection, in the kitchen, on window sills, the police found and seized a device for drug use: a plastic cap, with a metal thimble inside and dry substance of plant origin.
 
According to the man, the substance was marijuana, which he and his friends had been smoking in the kitchen using the device. The investigation will find out if he says the truth.
 
The seized evidence was sent to the Research Forensic Centre at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Office for examination.
 
Irshava district police station investigator initiated criminal proceeding over this fact under Part 1 of Art. 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal production, storage of drugs), which is punishable by restriction of liberty for up to three years, or imprisonment for the same term, and Art.317 of Criminal Code of Ukraine (organization or running of places for illegal use, production or manufacture of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, their analogues) which is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
