Oligotrophic bog Hlukhania is a unique site and the largest sphagnum bog in Horhany, located in the Nehrovtsi environmental research branch of the National Park "Synevyr." It covers an area of 17.0 hectares. and is located at an altitude of 620 masl, near the Mersha mountain and the right bank of the Tereblya river. Its territory is completely covered with mosses: Common hair moss (Polutrychum commune L.) and Bog moss (Sphagnum cuspidatum).
Hlukhania bog is extremely valuable natural site carefully protected by the National Park "Synevyr." To allow visitors to learn more about flora and fauna of the bog without trampling on it, the national park staff built a viewing platform. From now on, everyone has the opportunity to go far into Hlukhania on a comfortable wooden bridge and explore the site from the observation deck. Nearby, there are stands for tourists with detailed information on Hlukhania and a visit-center is being built.
One of the most interesting species on the Hlukhania bog is the crabgrass rotundifolia (Drosera rotundifolia L), which is fed on insects.
