In Beregovo three times fired to honor veterans

Parade on Victory Day in Beregovo began on May 9 at 10:00 a.m. For the festive columns to pass the traffic on Mukachivska street was temporarily blocked. To the music of a brass band, the students of the Arts School and to the accompaniment of majorettes war veterans, representatives of authorities and organizations of the town and the district walked from Beregovo Medical College to the Heroes’ Square.
 
There, in the center, the celebratory rally took place, which attracted about a thousand people. There were significantly less World War II veterans than the previous years. Some of them could not come because of illness. In total there are 30 disabled participants of war left in Beregovo and in the district – only eight.
 
 The anthem of Ukraine sounded at the rally, then the town and district leaders and the chairmen of veterans’ organizations read out their speeches. The dead and killed were honored with a three-time salvo. Flowers and wreaths were put to the monument to the Liberators. In the Park "Oasis" a celebratory dinner was organized for war veterans. This time, everything was done jointly by the town and district. In particular, military tents were brought from Vynogradovo, and the border guards helped to provide the field kitchen.
